Beautiful mid-century modern dining set consisting of an afromosia (African teak) draw-leaf table with teak top and four matching afromosia chairs, designed by John Herbert for A. Younger Furniture circa 1960's. Younger Furniture was a low volume manufacturer that aimed at the top end of the U.K. market. This set is of very high-quality design and construction, with beautifully shaped legs and extension leaves whose width gently tapers towards their ends. The table extends easily simply by pulling out the leaves from each end. It is a compact size, ideal for four to six, but can accommodate eight when needed. The chairs feature mid-height backs with two vertical slats, plus subtle angles and curves throughout. They are comfortable, with well-padded seats covered in light gold patterned fabric. The set is in very good vintage condition with only minor cosmetic wear for age and use. One of the seats has a couple stains, but they're not too noticeable. Seats are fairly easy to reupholster if the fabric doesn't suit your taste.
The table is 51" long, 67.25" long with one leaf, and 83.5" long fully extended. It is 31.75" deep at the center and 30.25" deep at the ends of the leaves, and 30" high.
