Vintage mid century walnut dining set, part of the Far East Collection designed by Michael Taylor for Baker Furniture. The Far East collection was first introduced in 1948. This set is comprised of an oval dining table with three leaves and six matching chairs. The table has an inlaid brass ring 2.5" inset from the deeply beveled edge and brass trim at the base of the legs. It rolls on small wheels attached to the bottom of the legs. The table has recently been refinished and it quite beautiful. The set of six walnut chairs are very well made, as one would expect from Baker Furniture. They have wonderful, curved lines not easy to achieve. The cane seats are a little low to accommodate optional comfortable cushions of your choice. There is one arm chair and five side chairs. There are Baker Furniture metal tags on the table and one of the chairs.
Table is 54" wide, 46" deep, 28.5" high, each leaf adds 14", so the table extends to 68", 82" and 96".
Chairs are 20" wide (armchair is 23" wide), 22" deep, 32.5" high, 16" seat height.
