Designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand, the LC4 chaise longue remains one of the most celebrated icons of 20th-century design. This officially licensed example was produced by Cassina in Italy and features the engraved signature of Le Corbusier, the Cassina logo, and serial number, a tag on the back of the pad, as well as the embossed base stamp confirming its authenticity. This model is upholstered in natural cowhide with a rich blend of cream, brown, and espresso tones, with black leather piping, paired with a black leather headrest. The gracefully curved, chromed tubular steel frame rests on a black lacquered steel base, allowing for a smooth glide between upright and reclined positions. The floating form, elegant materials, and ergonomic function make this a design that feels as fresh today as it did nearly a century ago. Structurally excellent with age-appropriate wear to the upholstery. The hair-on cowhide shows areas of thinning and hair loss, with visible bald spots and wear-through in high-contact zones. The chrome frame has some light surface scratches, and the headrest is in very good condition with light creasing. Overall, the chaise remains comfortable and highly functional, with appealing patina and character.
22" wide, 64" deep, 23"-33" high, depending on the angle.
