Elegant teak sofa designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen for France & Son, marked with John Stuart private label. The dramatic sweeping armrests constructed of laminated teak and beech are the highlight of the design, adding a soft organic feel to the otherwise linear form. The rest of the frame is solid teak, and exemplifies the high quality of this piece. The vibrant, royal purple upholstery is clean and in good condition, perfectly contrasting the orange hue of the teak wood. This model is usually seen with a spoke back, but this rare version has a fully upholstered back. The foam on the back has been recently replaced, and the seat cushions are still in good condition.
