Hans Wegner for GETAMA 1950s sofa with oak frame and loose cushions. This Model GE-290 mid-century three seat couch was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1953. The frame is solid oak and features large paddle arms, sharply angled back legs and horizontal wooden supports along the back. It has six innerspring cushions, we not sure if the fabric is original or not. The striped fabric is in neutral colors of mostly browns and olive greens with some gold threads, overall the cushions come across as a rich brown. Seating is angled back and comfortable. Burned in stamp on the bottom is somewhat faded, but reads GETAMA, Gedsted, Denmark, Design Hans J. Wegner. Very good functional condition. Oak frame shows wear including scratches and some discoloration from what looks like former repairs to scratches. Cushions are good, fabric shows uneven fading and some wear.
71.5" wide, 32" deep, 27.5" high including back cushions, 25.75" high to the high points in the frame. Arm height is 20.5" at the front of the arms, seat height is 16.5".
