This striking piece features deeply pulled edges and a textured striated surface that beautifully catches and diffuses the light. The asymmetrical silhouette gives the piece movement from every angle, with one side rising in a crest-like curve that feels almost architectural or wave-like in form. The underside reveals a textured grid pontil area typical of mid-century Italian art glass examples. Retaining its original “Made in Italy” label referencing the techniques of Murano masters, this piece was executed in the Murano tradition with the expressive organic forms and fluid craftsmanship associated with Italian studio glass of the circa 1970s period.
