A distinctive Japanese porcelain vase in a rare canted-corner square form, where each side is recessed at the corners, giving the impression of four panels joined at alternating angles. The crisp geometry lends an architectural presence that sets this vase apart from standard square forms. Each panel is hand-painted with stylized blossoms in vivid orange, accented by brown stems and blue leaves and trim. The brushwork is intentionally bold and organic, with subtle variations that reflect the wabi-sabi spirit of Japanese artistry, celebrating the beauty of spontaneity and the handmade. One side bears a painted artist’s mark. Likely produced in Japan circa mid-20th century. Its unusual form and striking decoration make it a versatile piece, perfect as a stand-alone vase or as part of a curated collection of Japanese and mid-century ceramics. Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Minor irregularities in the painting are original to the piece and part of its hand-crafted character.

3” wide, 3” deep, and 7.25” high.
