An impressive Japanese tansu chest/storage cabinet with beautiful proportions, warm aged wood, and wonderful original hardware. The upper section features two sliding doors with textured panels decorated with traditional fan motifs, opening to a shelf on one side and two small interior drawers on the other side. Below are three small drawers with classic metal pulls. The center section opens with a pair of hinged doors to reveal three wide pull-out tray shelves, ideal for linens, textiles, paper goods, or serving pieces. The lower section offers additional drawer storage, including two wide drawers and a column of three smaller drawers to the right. Original pulls, metal escutcheons, and side carrying handles complete the look. A beautiful statement piece for an entry, dining room, or living space. Good vintage condition with authentic wear and patina throughout.
