A rare and finely crafted mid-century ice bucket designed by Jean Gillon for Italma Wood Art, handmade in Brazil from richly figured jacaranda wood. This numbered example (1/300) reflects Gillon’s signature blend of organic form and functional elegance, with a cylindrical staved-wood body, fitted wood lid, and distinctive arched uprights that support a removable sculptural crossbar handle. The interior features its original insulated liner with a removable aluminum insert, designed to keep ice cold while protecting the wood exterior. The jacaranda’s deep chocolate-brown tones and striking linear grain patterns are beautifully showcased in the bucket’s minimalist, refined profile. Jean Gillon, a Romanian-born Brazilian designer, is celebrated for his work in high-end furniture and decorative arts that combine modernist sensibilities with exceptional craftsmanship. Pieces from Italma Wood Art are highly collectible, particularly those in jacaranda, a wood now protected and no longer available for export in raw form. Iconic, collectible, and no longer made, perfect for elevating any bar setup. Light surface wear and patina consistent with age. Some stains to the inner insulation, visible only when the aluminum liner is removed. Fully functional and well-preserved overall.

5.25” diameter body, 7.75” wide including handlebar, 8” high.
