John de Wit studied glass and ceramics at California State University in Chico in the late 1970s, attended and later taught glass blowing at the Pilchuck Glass School, and was a glassblowing assistant to glass guru Dale Chihuly.
This vase is an early piece from his Studio, Cultus Bay Glass, from 1989. It is signed/etched on the bottom "Cultus Bay Glass 1989, shown in the last picture. It is square on the bottom half and more rounded on the top half. It is multi-colored glass, mostly black, blue, white mauve and some parts near the top are clear.
