Japanese vintage two-piece stacking kitchen tansu chest, a large set with ample storage space behind multiple sliding doors and drawers. This Mizuya tansu chest is a multi-functional cabinet, traditionally kept adjacent to the kitchen primarily for the storage of eating utensils and food. The lower section has two sliding doors opening to a full length, removable shelf, with five small drawers down the right side. The upper section has two set of sliding doors, one smaller than the other, each with a removable interior shelf. There is also a row of five medium size drawers below three small drawers. The drawers have traditional metal pulls while the doors are each decorated a little differently. It's a beautiful piece with plenty of patina. All doors and drawers are in good working condition.
71.25" long, 19.5" deep, 68.5" high. Bottom piece is 31.5" high, top piece is 37" high.
