Beautiful mid century Danish teak desk designed by Peter Lovig Nielsen, circa 1960's. This piece features a "floating" top with raised beveled ridge along the back, which gently slopes on each side side to become flush with the desktop. Tapered legs give it a great side profile and the back is finished with bookshelf space, so it's ideal for use in the center of a room. There are three drawers on one side, the top of which locks, and a locking file drawer on the other complete with one key that works for both locks. The file drawer still has the metal holders and will accommodate both letter and legal size files. Underside is stamped with the original makers mark, which reads "Lovig, Dansk Design, Made in Denmark". Excellent vintage condition with the exception of uneven fading on the top. It is quite apparent that there were several items sitting on the top for decades and the rest of the top faded around them. 60.75" wide, 28" deep, top is 29" high and the along the back it is 29.5" high. Kneehole is about 23.5" wide and 28.25" high.
