A luminous example of late 20th-century American studio glass, this handblown vase by Scott and Laura Curry showcases the couple’s signature blend of rich color and refined detail. Crafted in deep cobalt blue, the vase is wrapped in a spiraling gold band that begins thick at the top and gradually narrows as it descends, creating an elegant sense of movement. Organic applications of gold leaf add depth and texture, evoking abstract landscapes or atmospheric maps suspended in glass. The clear base gives the piece a grounded presence while adding contrast to the saturated body. Signed S & L Curry 91 along the side of the base, this piece reflects the artistry and collaborative spirit of one of the notable glass duos of the era. Very good vintage condition. Minor wear to the gold leaf consistent with age. No chips or cracks.
4.25" diameter, 2.25" diameter opening, and 11" high.
