Pair of vintage solid teak benches imported by David Smith & Co. Made in Indonesia with traditional methods and hand tools, the trestle base and mortise and tenon craftsmanship will ensure they are sturdy for generations to come. David Smith & Co. was a large importer of high-end Indonesian antiques and furniture who had their own workshop on the island of Java. This pair of benches has a dark brown stain that looks almost black in low light. Each would make an excellent entry bench or pair with a dining set. On the bottom of each is a metal tag with the name of the company that also reads "handcrafted furniture from old world Java, Seattle, Washington, and a phone number. They have a fair amount of patina and cosmetic wear including scuffs, small chips, and some loss of finish, but they will outlast all of us.
48" long, 11.75" deep, 18.25" high.
