Beautiful three part tansu chest with worked iron crane fittings and iron handles, dating to 18th or 19th century, Edo period. The three pieces stack together for one cohesive piece, but separate for easy movement. The bottom section features two full width drawers, the middle section has two drawers and a cabinet door, and the top section has three small drawers underneath cabinet doors hiding two more full length drawers. It is in very good condition for its age and all the drawers work surprisingly well, a functional dresser or storage unit for any room.
48" wide, 16" deep, 60" high.
