Knut Saeter for Vatne Mobler pair of rosewood and leather lounge chairs, made in Norway, circa 1960s. These chairs are as beautiful as they are comfortable. The rosewood frames are exquisite, with the fantastic grain for which rosewood is revered. The distressed leather seems to be original and is a reddish brown, almost close to a dark salmon color or a very light brick red. One chair retains the Vatne Mobler, made in Norway, metal badge on the underside of the chair. Chairs are very comfy and in good structural condition. There are several small chips and dings in the rosewood, mostly along the lower trim piece in the front of each chair and a chip in the front edge of one arm. The leather has a lot of patina, wear and some discoloration, especially on the cushions. The leather on the body of the chairs is mostly good with some scuffs and and small hole in the back of one chair. There is also a hole in the back corner of one seat cushion, which can't be seen unless the cushion is removed.
30.25" wide, 29" deep, 35" high to the top of back cushion, 29" high to the back of the frame. Seat height is 17" and arm height is 20.25".
