A curated trio of 19th-century blue and white stoneware jars from Vietnam. Each piece is hand-thrown and uniquely decorated in cobalt brushwork under a translucent glaze, showcasing variations in form, motif, and firing that reflect their folk kiln origins.
This set includes:
• A small, melon-form vessel with stylized lotus petals around the shoulder and floral scrolls below, glazed in soft bluish tones with pronounced craquelure and a ringed foot.
• A meiping-shaped jar with dense cobalt decoration, firing pocks, and glaze pooling. The surface is richly textured with age and mineral patina.
• A rounded jar with applied lugs, possibly once used for suspension, featuring bold floral brushwork and a weathered base with grit from the firing process.
Together, these petite jars tell a story of regional ceramic heritage rooted in everyday use, influenced by centuries of Chinese porcelain tradition but made for local markets. Ideal for collectors, designers, or anyone drawn to the soulful character of old-world craftsmanship.
Very good antique condition overall. Each jar shows wear and irregularities consistent with age and use, including craquelure, surface spots, glaze skips, light cracks, and minor losses to rims or applied elements. No repairs noted.
