Vintage 13-stringed Japanese Koto with wooden stand and storage/transport box. It also comes with accessories such as bridges, wax, picks, and a fabric cover. The box is painted orange inside on the bottom half. The fabric cover is also mostly orange. The koto, folding stand and box are all made of very lightweight wood. The koto and box are most likely Kiri wood.

The koto is a Japanese plucked half-tube zither instrument, and the national instrument of Japan. It is derived from the Chinese zheng and se, and similar to the Mongolian yatga, the Korean gayageum and ajaeng, the Vietnamese đàn tranh, the Sundanese kacapi and the Kazakhstan jetigen.

This is a vintage set, the wood of all three pieces has scratches and shows wear. The box has some cracks and missing pieces but still works. All three pieces have loads of charm. All the pieces have patina from age and use.

Koto only is 72.25" wide, 10.5" deep, 3" high.
Stand is 73.5" wide, 11" deep, 21.75" high. It folds down easily for transport.
Box is 74.5" wide, 12.25" deep, 7.75" high.
Koto on stand is 26" high.
